That was me, a chiropractic skeptic. Twenty-one years of being a non-believer before the job title of chiropractic assistant fell before me. I took the job on a whim and on my first day, I was already being evaluated by our four fantastic doctors!
When I was ten years old, I was diagnosed with mild scoliosis and was told it wasn’t severe enough for surgery. I went with it and continued to be a four-sport athlete for the rest of my school years. I suffered from pretty severe low back pain, but always just put it off to playing so many sports and assumed it would eventually stop hurting. It did to an extent, but there was always a discomfort there. That was until I started my journey working under a chiropractor.
For my first few months at Loehr Chiropractic, I was only getting adjusted here and there and not following a full treatment plan. We really do make the worst patients. Within those few months the curve in my spine was changed by about 3 degrees by just getting adjusted when it would fit into the schedule (wild, I know)! After talking with Dr. Loehr, we decided to do a full treatment plan and see what the results would be. After only a month of doing so, I was completely pain free and felt better than ever. I felt better in spots that I wasn’t even aware were hurting before!
I am excited to see how consistent chiropractic care will continue to help me in my scoliosis journey and am excited to have you guys along for the ride! Needless to say, I am the farthest thing from a skeptic now!
