What health conditions may Precision Neuromuscular Therapy help?

Massage is an effective method to help treat and manage many types of musculoskeletal related health issues. While traditional massage techniques work to alleviate symptoms, A Precision Neuromuscular Therapist is trained to have strong deductive reasoning, palpitation skills, and advanced anatomical knowledge. Instead of a full body massage session, a PNMT session will often be focused on finding and treating the cause of a specific health condition.

Precision Neuromuscular Therapy may be used to help treat:

  • Tempromandibular Joint Disorders (TMJ)
  • Whiplash injuries
  • Frozen shoulder and rotator cuff issues
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Golfer’s Elbow
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and other repetitive muscle strain injuries
  • Tendonitis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Muscle spasms, cramps, and strains
  • Sciatica
  • Headaches
  • Migraines
  • And more!

What is a Precision Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)?

Precision Neuromuscular Therapy is a massage therapy technique that challenges the therapist to integrate multiple forms of soft tissue strategies into a session instead of staying with one treatment approach.

PNMT utilizes precise palpation skills to help alleviate soft tissue dysfunction. The massage treatment is very gentle, methodical, and slow to target the affected muscles and connected tissues.

It is not like a normal relaxation or Swedish massage. The patient undergoing care during a Precision Neuromuscular Therapy session is actively participating in their care while having treatment. The ultimate goal of the patient providing feedback during the massage is to help determine where the trouble is and continue or switch up the approach to alleviate the underlying issues.
